T
he celebration of 25 years of diplomatic
relations between India and Israel is a
momentous occasion.The Confederation
of Indian Industry (CII) is honored to partner
closely in the economic engagement of the
two countries.The publication of the Israel-
India Business Guide will serve to take this
engagement forward and we are delighted
to participate in this initiative.
Today,India and Israel have developed close
cooperation across economic sectors,spanning
agriculture,industry andmanufacturing,and
services.We have engaged deeply in several
knowledge areas for joint technology initiatives
and knowledge expansion.Indeed,knowledge
partnerships are the cornerstone of our overall
economic engagement.
CII through its cooperation agreements with
Israeli industry organizations and academic
institutions is proud to be a focal point for such
economic and knowledge engagement.We
have created a strong agenda of partnership
withTel Aviv University to take forward Indian
industry participation in programs developed
by the two governments in areas such as
agriculture productivity,defence production,
and technology cooperation. The Global
Innovation and Technology Alliance, a joint
initiative of India’s Department of Science
and Technology and CII, works with Israel
on specific projects.
CII aims to continue its close cooperation
between the business and economic
stakeholders of the two countries.I amconfident
that the Israel-India Business Guide will be
useful to us all as we deepen and strengthen
our partnership.
