Dear Friends,
I
t is with great pleasure that we participate
in the special issue of the Israel-India
Business Guide - 2017 – a notable occasion
when we celebrate 25 years of India-Israel
diplomatic relations.Recent years have seen
tremendous positive shift in our bilateral
economic and political relations,with more
openness and willingness to pursue trade
and investment activities.
Residing in India, I wish to share with you
that I observe much appreciation for Israeli
innovation across this beautiful country,and
great enthusiasm among Indian business
people about working together with Israeli
companies.The amount of business visitors
traveling both ways is in constant growth,
producing greater need for more and more
direct flights connecting Tel Aviv with all the
major cities in India.
India and Israel share an appetite for
technological innovation.In both countries
there is a wealth of business opportunities in
diversified fields such as biotechnology,cyber
security,medical devices,renewable energy
and clean-tech,water-related technologies,
agriculture,information and communication
technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT and
cloud computing, and many more.
One of the reasons India is doing so well in
the last couple of years is credited to the
revolution of smartphones. The fact that in
a very short period of time, many Indians
(estimated nowadays to be about 300million
people) got a powerful and affordable
computer in their hands (the smartphone),
created many economies-of-scale business
opportunities, for example in developing
new e-commerce platforms, shared-riding
transportation applications,social media and
other communication channels,and utilizing
the power of the Cloud. Just imagine when
India reaches its potential of 1 billion people
connected to smartphones - and you feel
that even the sky is not the limit here.
In that sense, Israel becomes increasingly
important and relevant for India. Marked
as a Start-Up Nation for quite some time,
Israeli companies and governmental agencies
are the right partners for joint-ventures with
Indian businesses in many sectors and
verticals - to further develop the Indian and
Israeli markets, as well as reaching out to
global markets together. The combination
of Israeli innovation together with India’s
evolving technological capabilities creates
ample business opportunities to exploit in
the coming years. In this regard, I invite you

This edition of the Israel-India Business Guide
