About ARO
The Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) - Volcani
Center, founded in 1922, is the research arm of the
Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
and as such, it is the primary driving force behind
Israel׳s agricultural achievements. ARO accounts for
nearly 70% of all agricultural research in Israel.
From plant to a drug
We have identified a variety of new compounds,
extract of plants or synthetic analogs of plant
derived substances, with proved anti-cancer
activity against various human cancer cell lines
and/or solid tumor (in model animals) or with
anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties for
the treatment of neurodegenartive diseases (such
as Alzheimer, Parkinson, ALS) or for the treatment
of Gastrointestinal inflammatory diseases (IBD,
Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn disease). ARO is looking for
strategic partners in the relevant fields.
AgroChemistry
ARO is looking forward to cooperate with Indian
entities in order to fulfil worldwide needs in changing
the plant protection methods by using new
efficient environmentally friendly products, natural
compounds and slow-released application systems.
Agriculture Engineering
The activities of the Institute are mostly application-
oriented, environmentally friendly, and R&D projects
that cover a wide range of subjects, such as advanced
mechanics, robotics and optics, precise and profitable
agriculture. ARO is looking for a strategic partner with
proven manufacturing capabilities in Agriculture
Engineering and with distribution capabilities
throughout India and the rest of the world.
