Mini Scientist.
In 2013, more than 5,000
students from 85 schools participated in
the Mini Scientist competition, which gives
8-12 year olds from all over Ireland the
chance to create and exhibit visual displays
and accompanying project books at science
exhibitions.
Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Intel Ireland has been a gold sponsor of this
event for 15 years, focusing on the physics,
chemistry and mathematics section. We also
sponsor a student and teacher award at the
event, presenting the winners with an all-
expenses-paid trip to the Intel International
Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the U.S.
Transition Year Student Programme.
In
2013, Intel offered a number of exploratory
programmes to transition year students,
including the Cutting Edge Careers events,
the Inspiring Females programme, an Intel
Shadow Week Initiative and the Intel Youth
Enterprise Programme.
eSchools.
This annual competition—won
in 2013 by St. Conaires National School,
Shannon, Co. Clare, gives primary schools
the chance to embrace wireless technology,
and offers a prize of 30 individual computing
devices, a dedicated teacher device and a
portable charging trolley.
