I n the Finance Budget 2022 , the Government of India identified and added to the list of upcomingopportunities for entrepreneurs and investors. The government professes that the growth should focus on all-inclusive welfare, promoting technology enabled development, energy transition and climate action and create a virtuous cycle starting from private investment, augmented by public capital investment. 1. Infrastructure India is a large country, and the logistical needs are enormous. Unless all the engines are synergised, any recognisable impact would be hard to achieve. Agriculture and Food Processing The agriculture sector has always been key priority sector, being major employer of workforce, and key contributor to ( 18 . 8 per cent, 2021 ~ 22 ) to GDP. Further, allied sectors including livestock, dairying and fisheries have shown potential to create drivers of overall growth in the sector. The food processing sector is the major consumer of agricultural produce but also a significant employer. Amongst the key focus areas are: ●● Organic farming ●● Post-harvest value addition ●● Digital support and IT driven solutions to farmers ●● Drone Technology deployment. ●● Blended capital to finance Agri-Tech start-ups 3. Education The Government wants to harness the potential of technology in education ecosystemby (i) enabling higher vocationalisation, (ii) greater multi-disciplinary research and (iii) promoting global education. Amongst recent initiatives of the Government: ●● National Digital Education Architecture aimed at supporting teaching and learning also educational planning, governance administrative activities ●● Skill Development initiatives aimed at the removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, build vocational avenues, training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills and innovation. ●● India International Skill Centre (IISC) Network to cater needs of foreign countries (namely Germany, Belarus, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Japan and Qatar in the field of apprentices/training) where Indian talent and manpower is in demand.
