Dear Readers, T hirty years of relationships have taught us a lot about our two ancient nations and cultures.We, Israelis and Indians, managed to build an ecosystem of knowledge sharing and cooperation. Therefore, it is no wonder that we grew together. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Israel in 1992 , bilateral trade and economic relations progressed rapidly. From the $ 200 million in 1992 merchandise trade has diversified and reached over $ 4 billion (excluding defense) in 2021 , business services being a key component contributing to this impressive increase. In that sense India is not only Israel’s strategic partner on the diplomatic and security arenas, but more even economically, being its second biggest trade partner in Asia. The last two years were challenging as the world experienced the difficulties arising out of Covid- 19 Pandemic. Economies, supply chains and industries have been disrupted worldwide. And yet, in the Trade and Economic Missions to India, we did not let the pandemic stop us from achieving our mission – to increase bilateral trade between Israel and India. Today evenmore than ever, Israel is committed to sharing technologies with India in order to helppushboth our economies to faster, post pandemic, growth.
