A

program for entrepreneurs who aspire to solve global problems

and a start-up incubator that has yielded dozens of exits

and internships at high-tech companies are only two of the

many options the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya’s pioneering

Adelson School of Entrepreneurship (ASE) offers students interested

in studying and gaining hands-on experience in this dynamic arena.

“Data indicates that a high percentage of start-ups fail due to lack

of experience, particularly in management”, explains

,Dean of ASE. “The way to improve entrepreneurs’chances

of success is by providing themwith practical experience,along with

academic tools,right from the start. We focus on

building an entrepreneurial project and coping

with the challenges that entrepreneurs face,

not just on listening to lectures and theories.”

IDC was the first academic institution in Israel

to develop a program in entrepreneurship

16 years ago. This has since inspired similar

programs in leading and attracts much interest

on an international scale.

IDC offers diverse programs:

B.A.in Entrepreneurship

(doublemajor with Business Administration)

The Adelson School of Entrepreneurship offers a unique double

major BA program that integrates practical entrepreneurship with

management. It is intended for students wishing to launch new

and innovative business ventures or to establish new programs in

existing organizations.

Zell Entrepreneurship Program

The Zell Entrepreneurship Program has already led to the launch

of 85 start-ups and an impressive number of exits. They include

LabPixies, which Google bought for $25 million and Wibiya, which

Conduit bought for $45 million.

Only 24 students are accepted each year to this exclusive program

which focuses on providing practical tools and theoretical knowledge

to actually establish start-ups.

Co-Op Start-Up Experience Program

This semester-long program includes internships that enable 250

students to experience life at leading start-ups or VC funds.

“Students perform real projects that advance the companies while

expanding their professional network,”explains Deputy Dean

Maaravi

,who is also the program’s academic

director. “Some students continue working at

the companies afterwards.”

Entrepreneurship Club

Every year,over 2,500 students fromall academic

disciplines participate in extracurricular

enrichment activities, such as lectures and

meetings with leading figures from industry.

Within this club,members help each other and,

are mentored by by processionals,to establish

start-ups during their undergraduate studies.

“Students choose IDC Herzliya due to its high academic level and

and the added value of business tools and future partners,” says

IDCBeyond Program

IDC's latest flagship program in entrepreneurship aspires to educate

entrepreneurs to solve the world’s greatest challenges in the 21st

century,fromworld hunger to insufficient water resources,emerging

high-tech and more.
