In 2016, CII organized agri startup pitch and student hackathon jointly withTel Aviv University and Startup Nation Central in India that saw a participation of more than 100 young innovators, entrepreneurs and students working in the digital agri technology space. As a follow through of the activities, CII, Tel Aviv University and Startup Nation Central are working together toward enabling technology transfer from Israel to India and also creating a platform for mentoring and capacity building of startups in India. Considering similar challenges faced by India, the partnership has the potential to immensely benefit the sector in terms of higher growth, greater availability of high value foods and most importantly the farmers in terms of higher incomes and livelihood security.
