In 2016 there was a reduction in exports to India, in contrast to the positive trend in the earlier two years. Total Israeli exports to India amounted to US$ 1.15 billion in 2016, representing a decrease of 13% compared to exports in 2015. It is important to note that the volume of export in 2016 still remains relatively high, compared to exports during the period 2013-2014. India is considered as one of the emerging destinations of Israel and the most important one for Israel globally and is traditionally regarded as being among Israel’s 10 major export destinations.In 2016 India was ranked as the 9th export destination of goods from Israel. Exports of telecommunication equipment and metals,which figure among the major goods exported by Israel to India,remained stable, compared to the previous year.These sectors account for 40% in value of the total goods exported to India.Exports of telecommunications equipment declined by about 2% to approximately around US$ 2.4 million. Exports of metals and metal products increased by 2% to US$ 212 million dollars. An increase was registered in exports of electronic components - by about 44% - to US$ 32 million, as well as office machines and IT parts, that increased by 39% to US$ 29 million. A sharp decrease of 69% in exports was registered in measuring, testing and navigation devices,amounting to about US$ 28 million. There was also a decrease of 30% in exports of control equipment, optical instruments and photography to US$ 90 million.
