Israel-India Business Guide - MedTech, Pharma & Biotech

4

Dear Readers,

It is a great pleasure to address you, esteemed readers, with the

sixth edition of Israel-India Business Guide on Medical Technology,

Pharma & Biotech 2014 (published by Paprika Productions Limited

of Israel and Abraham Yehuda & Associates of India).

Ever since I took office as the Ambassador of Israel in India, one of the

most important aspects is to promote trade related bilateral relations

in various fields. One of the most interesting sectors are Life Sciences

and Medical Equipment and Technology.

Israeli industry and R&D have made substantial developments

in recent years and are today considered to be one of the global

frontrunners. The Israeli industry is keen to tie up with their Indian

counterparts for mutual growth.

In view of the Indian Prime Minister’s recent launch of the ‘Make in India’campaign, Israeli entrepreneurs

and commercial companies are keen to examine the possibilities of producing their products in India,

either through their own subsidiaries or in cooperation with Indian companies. To encourage this

initiative, the Government of Israel has introduced incentives such as the Israel-India R&D Fund and

Israel-India Joint Venture Fund, under which both sides can utilize these funds.

The Trade Mission at the Embassy of Israel will provide the required support to Indian and Israeli

companies to coordinate with each other to achieve the desired goals. The Indian market is extremely

important to us considering the exchange of numerous business delegations between our two

countries in recent years.

The publication of this business guide is therefore well-timed, and merges with our ongoing efforts in

these fields. We strongly recommend this publication to all those whowish to learnmore about business

opportunities in the respective markets as it goesa long way in spreading the word and in helping

corporates and institutions in the two countries understand each other’s needs, thus encouraging

them to work together.

We invite Indian business houses and entrepreneurs to explore the possibilities of cooperation with

Israeli industry in these important fields wish you all success in your efforts.

Yours Sincerely,

Daniel Carmon

Ambassador of Israel to India

Mr. Daniel Carmon
