Letter from the Publishers

Dear Readers,

The Publishers of Israel-India Business Guides are now determined to publish

sector-wise business guides that will zero in on those areas that capture the

attention of corporates, entrepreneurs and business people in Israel and India.

This is now reinforced by our foray into business facilitation, banking on the

business guides, the website –

www.israel-india.info -

and the network of

associates that have been established. Our website carries the latest updates on

the Israel-India business scene - offering opportunities for joint cooperation. We

want our readers to benefit from all the information that we put out.

We urge business people on both sides to seize the opportunities that have

emerged in the last couple of years. The Indian medical technology, pharma,

biotech and healthcare sectors have gained in strength through innovation, product

development and through useful mergers with manufacturers and entrepreneurs

from outside of India. Israel has a lot to offer in these sectors. Recent calls by the

Government of India to increase investments in Indian industry and in fact to come

and ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ need to be seized without delay.

Promising opportunities exist today in areas like healthcare, telemedicine, clinical

research, health insurance, production of pharma products, research in biotech,

tissue culture, lab equipment, non-invasive surgical equipment and more.

MATIMOP (Israeli Industry Center for R&D), Israel and GITA (Global Innovation &

Technology Alliance), a division of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), continue

to offer incentives on joint R&D between Israeli and Indian Industry; The Israeli

Ministry of Economy, following the successful visit to India by the Minister of

Economy Mr. Naftali Bennett, introduced two significant proposals – one on joint

research & development and the other a fund for joint venture projects between

Israeli and Indian companies. These incentives can be leveraged by industry.

We thank our well-wishers and sponsors for continuing to support us. The Embassy

of Israel, the Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai and Bangalore, The Export &

International Cooperation Institute, Manufacturers’ Association of Israel, MATIMOP

– Israeli Center for R&D, the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce, Federation of

Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and Maharashtra Chamber of

Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA) have consistently backed us and for

this we are very grateful. We also thank all those who have contributed valuable

editorial inputs.

We wish you useful and productive reading, and much success in your endeavors.
