Shani Cooper-Zubida Akwaba! Welcome to Ghana! T he Republic of Ghana is a stable, viable, and Israel-friendly country in West Africa. Located a few degrees above theequator, it enjoys tropical weather. Ghana is the second-largest cocoa exporter in the world and the largest gold exporter in Africa. It has many natural resources but also a huge need for industrialization, mechanization and entrepreneurship. The Embassy of Israel, located at the capital Accra, works to promote trade and investment relations between the countries in several sectors, stressing on Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, Innovation, Health, HLSandCyber Security. The Government of Ghana is interested in Israeli solutions. The large private sector in the country is constantly looking for business opportunities in these fields. A good number of Israeli companies have already recognized business potential in Ghana, due to its strong economic status in West Africa and its leading position in the African Common Trade Agreement. Israeli projects in Ghana are evaluated in hundreds of millions of USD, but there is still a gap in trade between the two- countries. The investment, business and trade potential is genuine and the international interest in Ghana is vast. A Trade and Economic Mission is operating at the Embassy and together with the local Ghana-Israel Business Chamber, they are assisting Israeli companies in doing business in Ghana. Liberia Liberia is a small country embedded with huge natural resources deposits such as gold, iron ore, timber and diamonds. The President of Liberia, the famous former soccer player George Weah, is outlining a policy that stresses on infrastructure, health and agriculture as themain sectors for foreign investment and business. Companies that are interested in business in Liberia are advised to come up with a financial plan or develop the business plan based on international finance organizations` capability to finance it. Sierra Leone Sierra Leone is well known for its quality diamond deposits, but the current government is mainly interested in investments and businesses in the fields of infrastructure and agriculture, in order to decrease dependency on export. Julius Bio`s Government is handling fundamental political and economic challenges but nevertheless, the projected growth (before COVID- 19 ) was more than 3 %.
