Dear Readers,
It gives us a gre
at pleasure to take part in the fourth edition of
Israel-India Business Guide on the beginning of a third successful
decade of full diplomatic relations between Israel and India.
The relations between the two countries have deepened and
widened throughout the last few years in almost every possible
field. Defence is without a doubt a prominent one. It is a symbol
of the level of intimacy and cooperation that Israel and India
have reached.
In this field, the cooperation and relations are based first and
foremost on the common values and interests both of our
countries share. At the same time, Israel and India share also a
wide array of security challenges. These challenges are mutual
existential ones and therefore, the cooperation in these fields
has been an indispensable part of the growing multifaceted
relationship between our two countries.
Israeli companies stand at the forefront of defence technologies
and achievements not only because of the sheer necessity
to excel and to respond to every possible threat or a new
security challenge. These companies are the best thanks to
huge resources invested in research and development. But
more than that, we are where we are because of the men and
women behind the machines. They are the most sophisticated,
innovative, hard-working and diligent men and women with the
extensive combat experience that Israel has to offer.
I hope you will find this guide useful, and that it will be yet
another boost to the strengthening of defence and security ties
between Israel and India.

In the short space of time that I have been Consul General at
the Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai, I have seen wide-
based interest among businesspeople from India in Israeli
industry. The level of comfort they feel in dealing with Israeli
corporates and institutions is heartening and we feel that
there is still much to do.

& Homeland Security present a focused overview of the
business opportunities that exist in this sector and how
cooperation between Israeli and Indian industry can be taken
forward.

Dear Readers,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and encourage you
to do business in India. My job here is to promote Israeli
businesses and investments in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat,
Madhya Pradesh, Odissa and Chattisgarh, to promote
Indian investments in Israel – and I am doing it from my
office in Mumbai.
India is one of the most interesting markets for Israeli
industry and to Israeli importers / exporters, India, with its
1.2 billion people, is 18% of the global population and is
an unlimited market for Israeli products on one side and
an unfinished source of new technologies and ideas – for
researchers and developers in Israel – on the other.
I would like to see better cooperation between Israeli and
Indian industries in R&D, inwhich the R&D is done partially
in India and partially in Israel; the development of Tele-
Medicine Instruments, Software for Communication, 4th
and 5th Generation Telecommunications, HLS projects,
Water Technology, Cyber Security, and more.

can contribute to trade between the two countries, if you
